Quick fixes that solve most problems
- •Press Download again — a dropped connection is the most common cause.
- •Pick “Original” in the format menu next to Download. That's the creator's own file, with no converting in your browser.
- •If an app won't open the file, download it as WAV — it opens almost everywhere.
- •Turn off ad blockers or download blockers for readysfx.com, or try another browser.
The download stopped part way
Your internet connection dropped, or something in your browser (an ad blocker, a VPN or a work/school network) blocked the file.
- •Press Download again — it usually works the second time.
- •Turn off ad blockers or download blockers for readysfx.com, or try another browser.
- •If you're on a VPN or a work/school network, try a home connection.
Converting to that format didn't work
Converting to MP3, WAV or OGG happens inside your browser, and some browsers (or a low-memory device) can't finish it.
- •Choose “Original” in the format menu — that's the creator's own file with no converting.
- •Or try again in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer.
The file won't open or play
Usually your audio app can't read that format (OGG, or high-quality 24/32-bit WAV in some older apps), or the download was cut off.
- •Download it again as WAV — it opens almost everywhere. MP3 is the next safest.
- •Try opening it in a free player like VLC to check whether the file itself plays.
- •If the file is only a few KB, the download was cut off — download it again.
It's silent, cut off or distorted
Either the download was interrupted, or there's a problem with the creator's file.
- •Download it again with “Original” selected.
- •Play the preview on the sound's page — if the preview sounds fine and your file doesn't, the download was damaged.
- •If the Original file is broken too, request a refund. Once we confirm it, we refund you and ask the creator to fix the sound.
I can't find the file I downloaded
Browsers save downloads to your Downloads folder, named after the sound.
- •Open your Downloads folder (or press Ctrl+J in Chrome/Edge, ⌘+Option+L in Safari) and look for the sound's name.
- •You can download it again any time from Account → Library.
It's not what the listing described
The file is a different sound, a different length, or doesn't match its name, description or preview.
- •Compare your file with the preview on the sound's page. If they really differ, request a refund.
