About ReadySFX

ReadySFX is an online marketplace for royalty-free sound effects (SFX) for games, YouTube and other videos, film, streams and apps. You can preview every sound for free, pay once, and use it in your projects forever. Sounds are made by independent sound designers and are never registered with Content ID.

What you can do here

  • •Search and preview sound effects by name, tag, creator or category: footsteps, weapons, UI, magic, impacts, ambience and more.
  • •Buy single sounds from $2, or packs of related sounds for less than buying each one.
  • •Get free sound effects, each with a licence.
  • •Ask a creator to make a custom sound for you, paid safely through escrow.
  • •Sell your own sound effects and keep 65% to 75% of each sale. Become a creator.

How the licence works

Royalty-free means you pay once and keep using the sound, with no royalties or per-project fees, and the licence never expires. The Commercial licence covers shipped games and apps, monetised videos, films, ads, podcasts, streams and client work; no credit is needed. The Personal licence covers projects that don't earn money.

Why we built it

Game and video audio libraries are often a search box bolted onto a warehouse, with confusing licences and sounds that get your videos claimed. ReadySFX starts from structure and trust: every sound categorised, tagged and previewable, a licence you can read in a minute, and no Content ID.

Who makes the sounds

Every sound is made by a person. Creators apply with samples of their work, and every creator must have made each sound substantially themselves. Uploads from creators who aren't Trusted yet are reviewed before they go live, and buyers can see who made every sound.

Who runs it

ReadySFX is an independent marketplace, launched in 2026 and run from Manitoba, Canada.
